In documentary work I am aiming to capture life as it appears, without stage managing or editing the scene. It is about letting life unfold and observing it. Despite this non-interventionist approach documentary photography is a passionate art form. Achieving this requires finding a story to tell, having genuine curiosity about the story, and having the skill to capture the decisive moments. In that way photography offers alternative ways of seeing, recording and understanding the events and situations that shape the world in which we live. Documentary photography is a form of real life reportage and is distinct from street photography which focuses more on the candid exploration of social dimensions.
